It all started with a Philadelphia Eagles player’s daughter battling leukemia. They turned shakes into hope with the help of a local McDonald’s owner, Ray Kroc himself, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and the Eagles. And that’s not all! Did you know the Shamrock Shake was born in 1967, went national in 1970, and even inspired a Shamrock Sundae in 1980? From a 24-foot tall shake poured into the Chicago River to a special straw for the chocolate version, this shake has seen it all!

The Boston Celtics, SHIFT Communications, McDonald’s, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), and WHDH-TV have joined forces to promote the highly anticipated Shamrock Shake season. As part of this collaborative effort, former Boston Celtics superstar Leon Powe made a special appearance at a McDonald’s location in Chelsea, Massachusetts, where he delighted fans by serving up the iconic Shamrock Shake. The event was a tremendous success, generating excitement and raising awareness for RMHC’s vital mission. Powe’s participation added star power to the campaign, creating memorable moments for fans and underscoring the community-focused spirit of the partnership.
