Open Roles

Social Media Coordinator (Summer-Fall 2026 Semester, June to late-December)

Reports To: Hanah Fadrigalan, Director of Marketing & Communications

Location: Hybrid (2 days in-person onsite at our Boston Harbor location; 4 hours remote for content editing)

Role Overview

We are seeking a creative, empathetic, and organized Social Media Coordinator to join our Marketing team for the summer. This role is perfect for a college student who is passionate about digital storytelling and wants to make a tangible impact by amplifying the voices of the families and volunteers who call the Ronald McDonald House “home.” You will be responsible for capturing the heart of our mission through high-quality content while ensuring our communication remains sensitive to the unique journeys of our guest families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Brainstorm, capture, and produce engaging daily content for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. This includes Reels, family stories, and “behind-the-scenes” volunteer spotlights.
  • Utilize your 4-hour weekly remote block to edit raw footage and photos into polished, brand-aligned assets using tools like Canva, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere or CapCut.
  • Interview families, donors, and staff to draft captions that are compelling, respectful, and reflective of our core values.
  • Assist in the planning and digital promotion of summer fundraising events like Night Out at Fenway Park, Women’s Classic 5K run and 3K walk, Boston Marathon, Falmouth Road Race and other Ronald McDonald House New England events. You will provide live “on-the-ground” social coverage during events to drive real-time engagement and donations.
  • Track key performance metrics and provide a brief bi-weekly report to the Director of Marketing on what content is resonating most with our audience.

Qualifications & Preferences

  • Ideally pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • You live and breathe social media trends but know how to adapt them to a professional nonprofit setting.
  • Proficient in mobile photography/videography and video editing software.
  • Please send your work portfolio samples to determine your editing style and content themes.
  • Sensitivity and discretion in working with RMHCNE families and children, maintaining confidentiality.

Work Structure

This is a hybrid role designed to balance the energy of the House with the focus of a home studio:

  • Onsite (2 Days/Week): Capturing content with the staff and families, attending team meetings and 1:1 meetings, and assisting with event coordination. (Each day is 8 hrs equivalent)
  • Remote (4 Hours/Week): Dedicated “Deep Work” time for editing and scheduling content.
